Beth was called to the Bar in November 2015.

She completed the Bar Practice Course (Very Competent) at Manchester Metropolitan University and graduated with a 2:1 Honours Degree in Law with Criminology (LLB) from The University of Salford, establishing a strong academic foundation.

Beth is a friendly, confident and approachable advocate who accepts both prosecution and defence instructions in all areas of criminal law be it Magistrates, Youth and Crown court work as well as Rape and Serious Sexual Offences (RASSO). She is a category 3 level prosecutor.

She began her legal career at the Crown Prosecution Service in 2016 as a pupil before progressing to prosecuting complex Youth and Sexual assault cases in the Youth and Magistrates Court. During those three years, Beth quickly became a Senior Crown Prosecutor and in 2020 became a Crown Advocate for the Northwest Crown Court unit.

She is an accomplished jury advocate and has prosecuted cases involving serious assaults, sexual assaults, robbery and drug supply.

Beth has undertaken roles as junior prosecution counsel and was recently led by experienced counsel in Operation Cove, a 28-defendant conspiracy to supply Class A drugs case which resulted in convictions.

She is experienced in handling large volumes of disclosure material and can simplify lengthy detailed evidence, making it easier to digest for a jury.

Beth is regularly instructed in sensitive cases involving vulnerable witnesses and children. She is acutely aware of the level of care required in these types of cases and is adept in complying with the requirements of pre-recorded evidence as a special measure for them.

Beth has been heavily involved in the creation, testing and perfecting of the current pilot for Digital Jury Bundles, due to be rolled out nationally. She has advised on the scheme from the outset and has tested the programme successfully in mock trials before it was authorised for implementation at Swansea Crown Court.

Whilst Beth’s career over the last 9 years has been solely prosecution work, her skills and experience are transferable to conducting defence work.
