On 14th March 2024 Chambers was honoured to be invited to talk at Holy Cross College, Bury, about a career at the Bar. The invitation was particularly special given Holy Cross College’s alumni includes Head of Chambers Samantha Bowcock KC and barrister George Rollins.
Alongside members Nicola Murray and Savannah Woolgar-Harris, George returned to his college to share his experience of life at the Bar with Sixth Form students who aim to study law at university.
Danny Gorrill, Law Tutor at Holy Cross College says: ‘Nicola, Savannah and George were truly inspirational, and we have been amazed with the level of enthusiasm they have instilled in our students.’
Newly appointed Head of Outreach for Chambers, Poppy Sparrow, explains the importance of 15 Winckley Square’s outreach initiative: ‘Visits to regional schools and colleges are crucial to ensure that students with an interest in a legal career have the opportunity to learn about the route to life at the Bar from the start of their academic ambition in the law.’
Chambers’ visit to Holy Cross College continues a successful year of events whereby members of 15 Winckley Square have visited regional colleges, universities and providers.
